Description
Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun meet one evening at a carnival, beginning a courtship that blossoms into intimacy. They are quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn't right for her. When Allie doesn't hear from Noah for several years, she meets and becomes engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's home. Their reunion rekindles a passionate romance, and Allie must choose between her soulmate and class order. The tale is told by an older gentleman who constantly reads the story to his aging companion.
